Founding officers should be willing to make small commitments, communicate early when something changes, and ask for help before a task becomes a crisis.
Read the agenda, complete agreed tasks, and bring decisions or questions to the meeting.
Document contacts, files, budgets, project status, and lessons so knowledge does not stay with one person.
Keep public information current and accurate.
Consider time, cost, disability access, prior experience, and the needs of students outside the usual technical circles.
Some roles may benefit from experience, but new students can bring energy, continuity, and a fresh view of what is confusing. The selection conversation will focus on reliability, capacity, and willingness to learn.
Join as a general member, project participant, event volunteer, photographer, designer, or note-taker. You can increase your involvement later.
